MAY 27th

   Noon: Mountain Blessing Song
Come to Bascom Lodge at noon to kick off their 80th season by joining me in a mountain blessing song.

2:30 - 4:30  Incantations and Song Magic

Mt. Greylock is not only the highest mountain in Massachusetts, but J.K. Rowling has designated it as the home of the Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardy!
Come join me at Bascom Lodge as we weave our magic, creating our own chants and songs.

Hogwarts Classroom = Bascom Lodge?
In this two hour workshop we will determine if we’re Thunderbirds, Horned Serpents, Pukwudgies or Wampuses and then create incantations, chants or poems based on our character. What is the sound at the heart of the snake horn fragment? Our creations can be performed or kept secret.
Rhythm instruments will be provided or found outdoors.

MAY 20th

I'm excited to be singing in concert with my friend Shawn Stevens on Saturday evening, alongside yoga teacher Jennifer Reis, May 20th at Kripalu.

Over the years he has taken part in "Sounding Mohican Pathways,"  an educational and cultural exchange program that I created in collaboration with Tammis Coffin, Education Director at the Mission House. This program received a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and the Stockbridge Cultural Council.

This program  built bridges between the Stockbridge community here and the Stockbridge Mohican community in Wisconsin. Working with contacts at the Mohican reservation and at the Mission House and Indian Museum here, I organized an interactive music program that incorporated stories, songwriting and history. Shawn and I presented an 'origin of song' program at the Stockbridge Library as well as the "Sounding Mohican Pathways" walk down Main Street to historical sites.

Shawn also brought his powerful songs to "Mumbet, Melville and Mohicans," a performance
I created at Herman Melville's home Arrowhead with Mari Andrejco, Nathan Smith, Elfi Six, Jana Laiz, Ann Elizabeth Barnes, Jennifer Reis, and Sean Vernon.
